Mid-Afternoon Weather Update…
The mid-afternoon satellite/radar image showing showers and thunderstorms scattered across all of the Great Lakes region. There are currently severe thunderstorm warnings up in Alger and Schoolcraft Counties in Michigan, near Sault Ste. Marie. That is due to a powerful severe thunderstorm coming off the eastern portion of Lake Superior. Large hail and damaging wind likely with that storm.
With all of the rain that has occurred here in Ohio recently, the drought conditions have improved dramatically across the state. The areas in white are now actually out of the drought area. This has resulted in those areas receiving a surplus of rain recently as well.
