Soaking Rain on the Way #NWOhioWx #OHwx #Wx

The current visible satellite from the Goes-16 (non-operational & experimental) paints the picture this afternoon. Strong west winds as the upper level low pressure area moves into Canada. Sunshine will be increasing through the remainder of the afternoon and evening.

A wind advisory continues for portions of Northwest Ohio. Winds 20-30 MPH are expected, along with higher gusts, through the early evening. Things overall should begin to quiet down later tonight, and last through the day Wednesday. However, the dry period will only be brief.

A strong area of low pressure will make its march towards the Ohio Valley by Thursday. As a result, an extended period of moderate to locally heavy rain is forecast. The forecast models are painting a picture that will result in at least two to three inches of rain on average through this weekend. Flooding could become a concern once again along the area rivers and streams.

High pressure looks to build back in later this weekend. That will result in an increased amount of sunshine. Stay with the Northwest Ohio Weather Blog for updates on the rainfall potential.
